Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Manners & Moves is a fun, modern etiquette and social confidence program for children. Through interactive lessons, games, and team-building activities, children learn polite manners, dining etiquette, conversation techniques, and dance while developing the confidence and social skills they need to succeed in everyday life. Respect for others is the driving force of Manners & Moves.
Traditional cotillion programs focus primarily on etiquette instruction, manners, and formal dance. Manners & Moves builds upon many of the positive conventions of cotillion while creating a modern, interactive, and engaging experience for today's children.
Our program combines timeless etiquette lessons with interactive games, team-building activities, role-playing, confidence-building exercises, dining experiences, and social dance. We honor the traditions of cotillion while focusing on the real-world social skills children need today. Our goal is not only to teach proper manners but also to help children become comfortable, confident, and successful in social situations.
Manners & Moves is designed for children who want to build confidence, improve social skills, learn proper etiquette, and make new friends in a positive and engaging environment.
Good manners help children feel confident, show respect for others, communicate effectively, and build positive relationships. Etiquette is about more than rules—it is about helping children navigate social situations with kindness, confidence, and consideration for others.

No! While dining etiquette is an important part of the program, Manners & Moves focuses on the whole child and a variety of social situations.
No prior dance experience is required. Our social dance activities are designed for beginners and focus on confidence, courtesy, cooperation, and having fun rather than dance technique.
Social dance helps children develop confidence, poise, coordination, and social awareness. It also provides opportunities to practice introductions, conversation skills, respect, and positive interaction with others in a structured environment.
Children gain confidence by practicing real-life social skills in a supportive setting. Through role-playing, conversation exercises, team activities, dining experiences, social dance, and interactive games, participants become more comfortable interacting with peers and adults.
Absolutely. One of the most rewarding aspects of Manners & Moves is the opportunity to meet children from different schools and backgrounds. Our activities encourage participants to form new friendships and expand their social circles.
Manners Jeopardy is one of our favorite interactive activities. Children work in teams to answer etiquette and social skills questions while practicing communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence in a fun and engaging format.
Teamwork teaches children how to communicate effectively, listen to others, solve problems collaboratively, and support their peers. Through group activities and games, participants learn valuable leadership and cooperation skills that benefit them in school, sports, and future careers.
Manners & Moves programs are designed for elementary- and middle-school-aged children. Specific age ranges may vary by session, allowing activities and instruction to be tailored appropriately for each group.
